Every mom deserves a break. You can’t always take a day off just for you. However, you can pamper yourself any day of the week, right at home. These quick pampering tips for moms are sure to give you a quick boost!
Listen to your favorite music - When was the last time you bought yourself a new CD of your favorite artist? Turn on some motivating music for yourself. Listen to music to relax or pump up the volume and dance while you do the laundry.
Light some candles - Gather a few scented candles and light them for a soothing effect. Be sure to keep a few of the scents you like best on hand so you never run out.
Bubble bath - Fill your bath tub with hot water. Squirt in some nice-smelling bubble bath. Scents like lavender, mint and vanilla contribute a calming aroma.
Rose petal soak - Instead of using bubble bath or bath salts, drop some rose petals in your water just before you get ready to soak.
Rose petal foot soak - Soak your feet for twenty minutes in warm water with rose petals. The smell from the rose petals have a calming effect and the foot soak is sure to be a treat for mom’s tired feet.
Manicure and pedicure - What mom doesn’t deserve a nice pampering manicure and pedicure! Plan a special day out alone for this special treat. If you can’t afford to pay for this, invite a girlfriend and take turns pampering each other.
Save face - Buy an inexpensive tube of facial mask and soothing cream. Give yourself a facial while relaxing in the tub or soaking your feet in a rose petal foot soak.
Mother-daughter pampering - All moms need special pampering, but don’t forget to include your daughters from time to time. If you have a younger daughter, use some of these pampering tips we’ve provided for a fun mother-daughter night. Take turns giving each other facials and manicures, rubbing lotion on your feet or combing your hair. If you have an older daughter, save and plan for a special mother-daughter pampering day at the spa.

Meal planning and bulk cooking are both wonderful techniques you can utilize and modify to fit your families needs. The idea behind this is simple. The principle is that you cook and or prepare your meals ahead of time and then preserve them by either freezing or fridgerating them. Also, meal planning you can cook one large meal and get 2-3 other meals out of it!
The key here is to make every meal you cook count! When you are going to prepare a family favorite, double, triple, even quadruple the recipe if it will keep in the freezer.
Sounds wonderful doesn’t it? Why not give yourself a much-needed break — cook ahead today so you can relax tomorrow!

Keeping an organized home isn’t always easy. One of the roadblocks that stands in the way of getting organized is the feeling of being overwhelmed. Have you ever walked into your home and let out a *sigh* as you look at the clutter? Many moms simply feel overwhelmed and this feeling is understandable since many of us lead very busy lives.
Here are some tips to help you for when you feel overwhelmed or stressed out when it comes to getting organized.
1 - When you’re feeling overwhelmed take a moment to stop and brainstorm solutions to the problem. If you are staring at a cluttered desk, take a moment to jot down things that you could use to lessen the clutter (in boxes, bins, foldere..etc)
2 - Break your organizing projects down into small steps. For example, instead of trying to organize the kitchen in one large swoop, just choose a cabinet a day to organize.
3 - Get some help. Recruit your spouse, friends, older children, etc. to help you come up some organizing projects.

*sigh*
Spring break officially ends tomorrow and the kids will back at school. Most mothers jump for joy when vacations end but not me… I always want to extend them.
Perhaps it is because I am a part time WAHM and I work during the school hours then pick up the kids from school and then assist with homework, rip and run to after-school activities and then on top of that work from home in the late afternoons and evenings. I loved the 6 full weekdays of no homework, pick ups/drop offs, no rigidly scheduled homework time before activities and then a mad dash for the bed because we have to get up at the crack of dawn and do it all over again.
Isreal, my 11th grader is fine. She is in the *ZONE* As we call it and is on the fast track to college. But Isaac on the other hand is another story. Part of me really wants to home-school my youngest son Isaac. He is in the 3rd grade and it my experience with his public school sucks hasn’t been a picnic. On top of the daily 1-1.5hrs of homework for this 8yo each evening, can you believe that during his Spring break, he had a Spring Break Homework BINDER. Yes, you read that, binder. It consisted of 137 pagesof work (front and pack). Oh don’t worry, the teacher neatly hole punched each page and carefully placed them into a nice pretty blue binder with Tabs for the days of the week that the pages were to be done on. I guess the beautiful presentation was supposed to stifle our SHOCK that the poor child would be traumatized for a darn week. Uhhh I thought spring break meant BREAK?!
My husband and I are pulling him out of his current school after this year and we are currently on a MISSION to find another school for him. I approached him (my husband) with the idea of me homeschooling Isaac next year and hubby wasn’t fond of the idea at all. I think part of it was/is because homeschooling is just foreign to him and the other part is, well quite frankly, he will loose his Office manager at his Pest Control Company (where I currently work from 9-3).
I guess I am just unloading here - getting thoughts out of my head and onto paper the computer. I guess the good thing is that as hard as the school pushes him, I make sure to turn the pressure off. Of course Isaac didn’t finish each and every one of those 137 pages. If you do the math that works out to be about 18 pages of work a DAY. I doubt the teacher did 18 pages of work a day over HER break, so why should we Isaac.

As much as I love to pamper myself, it is very rare that I get to visit a Spa. Usually I will splurge once a year and treat myself to some lovely spa treatment and it usually costs a pretty penny.
Well Spa Week is coming (April 14 - 20) and they have some lovely $50 services. A Friend and I just booked our appointments for Warm Shea Butter Body Melts (I can’t wait) www.spaweek.net
Check it out - hopefully a spa in your area will be participating
