How A Life Coach Can Help WAHMs Succeed!

January 11, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Parenting, Stress Management, Working From Home No Comments →

Work at home moms, also known as WAHMs, have a lot on their plates; they are full-time caretakers and full-time business women. A life coach can help WAHMs succeed in all areas of their lives.

A Life Coach Can Help WAHMs Stay Organized
Every mom knows the importance of organization; add a business to the mix and organization becomes even more important. As a WAHM, you need to know where your child’s play date is, when your next deadline is due, and what you are making for dinner.

A life coach can help you develop an organization system, set priorities and stay in control of your schedule. You’ll no longer waste precious time looking for things you’ve misplaced and you will no longer miss those important deadlines.

Get the Job Done & Spend Quality Time With Your Kids:
In many cases, women become WAHMs because they want to spend more time with their children. However, when you have deadlines to meet and clients to please, finding time to spend with your children can be difficult.

A life coach can help you develop a work routine that will allow you balance your time between work and family. When you have a routine in place, you will know which hours are for work; and which are for play.

How a Life Coach can Help WAHMS Spend Time with Their Spouse
It can be easy to put romance on the backburner when you have your hands full. As a WAHM, you are tackling two “more than full-time” jobs. It is important to make time for your spouse, so that your marriage does not suffer.

A life coach can help you and your spouse work out a schedule where you both take on various household tasks. Having your spouse take over some of your chores will free up time on your schedule to create a date night together. You need time to be husband and wife, not just “mom” and “dad”.

How a Life Coach can Help WAHMs Get Time to Them Selves
By nature, women tend to be people pleasers; a life coach can help you learn to say “no”. This will prevent you from taking on more work than you can handle. When you take on too much, your natural response is to limit the time you take for yourself. This can be a big mistake. You deserve to take time out for yourself; take a walk, read a magazine, get a manicure.

You will notice that when you take a break to be alone, get your thoughts together, and recharge your batteries, you will have renewed energy and passion for all areas of your life!

How to Cope with and Help your Teens Mood Swings

January 10, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Children, Freebies, Parenting, Teenagers No Comments →

Many parents can describe their teens behavior as they would describe Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

On minute your teen may be kind and loving to family members, the next, critical and hurtful. One day your teen may seem very calm and thoughtful, the next ranting and raving because someone drank the last of the milk.

Most teens have mood swings on and off throughout their teen years.  Here is very helpful article that can help you help your teen control the mood swings.

Think yourself happy

January 09, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: About the Family, Children, Freebies, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management No Comments →

Can you really think yourself happy?  The answer is a qualified yes. Believe it or not, it is within your power to create positive thoughts allowing you to accomplish anything you set out to do.

Here are the ways in which positive thoughts can help you accomplish many things in life.

Positive thoughts produce positive results.  We can either bemoan our situation, or change it. We can be negative about an event or enthusiastic. If you really want to think yourself happy, then make up your mind to do so. It may be difficult to think happy in a world filled with hatred and violence.  But it’s not impossible.  One person, one idea, one positive thought can change society.  How, then, can we make ourselves happy?  By being a constant reminder to others that there is goodness in the world.

* Seek out positive people to associate with.
* Expose yourself to all the wonderful books, music and movies available.
* Find the one important thing in your life that’s important, and pursue it.
* Show kindness and respect towards others.
* Use positive reinforcement wherever and whenever you can.
* Speak in a positive tone.
* Rid your mind of negative thinking with yoga and exercise.
* Let your expectations reflect your positive attitude.
* Allow peace of mind to envelop you.
* Become your own best friend.

Hey Moms, Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help

January 08, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Blogroll, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Working From Home No Comments →

It is no secret that mothers often feel overwhelmed by all the responsibilities thrust upon them. Between bottles, play groups, homework battles and trying to keep an organized home, you can easily lose yourself amongst it all. What’s worse is that moms often feel like they have to do it all on their own. If you’re tired of being Super Mom, let me share with you a few reasons why you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help.

Reason #1: You deserve a break. Moms are busy people. We take on a lot of tasks and often don’t get much credit or recognition for them. Moms work 24 hours a day, rarely getting breaks. Allow yourself to take a break every now and again.

Reason #2: You can’t do it all by yourself. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. In fact, it’s just the opposite, a sign of strength. Someone once said that no man (or mama) is an island. Oh how true this is! There is no way you could do everything by yourself, and if you did you would be exhausted so ask for help and feel good doing it.

Staying Focused Really Pays Off

January 07, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Goals, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Parenting, Uncategorized, Working From Home No Comments →

Staying focused on one task and seeing it through may be challenging but it is a very important tool to use.  The art of staying focused will allow you to finish projects quickly & more efficiently.  Yes, I admit that this takes planning, practice and at times being totally alone, which may require delegating tasks to others, but it is worth it and will pay off.

Here are some tips to help you to stay focused:

•  Each day create your list of things that must be done before days end.  Stay focused on each task individually and simply check the tasks off as you complete them.

•  Create a plan of action – To achieve and stay focused on your goal you should clearly plan it out.  Don’t just think it, write it down. Ask yourself, “What will I need to do to get from where I am today to where I want to be?” Your strategies to get to where you want to be my change as time goes on but keep your eye on the goal.

•  Surround yourself with a good support system.  Try using the buddy system and surround yourself with people who will encourage and challenge you. Being accountable to someone other than yourself is a great motivator to get a job done

P.S. For more suggestions on staying focused and meeting your goals check out Journey to Joy: it is loaded with examples and action steps.

Journey To Joy

Arika and her Cha Cha Cha Changes

January 06, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Teenagers, Uncategorized, Working From Home No Comments →

Hi there everyone -  WOW while I really enjoyed the Holidays, I am kind of happy they are over and things are getting back to normal. I finally got my son down from his sugar high and school starts tomorrow.

I hope you are enjoying reading my CBC with Arika. I really am enjoying getting to know more about her, her business and her family.

The last time I posted to Arika, I posted that I noticed her Blog was looking better and better each time I looked over there. I knew she was up to something but I had no clue what. So, being the upfront person that I am.  I asked Arika what her future plans were for her blog.  Be sure to read her inspiring answer here  she has some great ideas coming up and hey, when I was there today, I could notice changes are already taking place. She doesn’t waste any time!

Well here is the question that Arika had for me.

“Recently, you announced that you will be a first time Grandma this Spring. Congratulations, but I must know, was it a hard pill to swallow at first? If so, once the initial shock wore off, how do you feel about it now?”

Wow, what a question…

Yes, I will be a 38 year old grandmother this Spring and yes Arika is right, the pill was very hard to swallow. As a matter of fact, I choked on it for a day or so until I finally swallowed it down.

Shayna (my 20yo daughter) is pregnant and due on May 27th and I have to say that I am so happy, excited, anxious and nervous that I can hardly stand it! I can’t WAIT to meet my Grandson! :)   Shay came to visit over the holidays and one of my biggest joys was taking her Bra shopping (remember how your boobs doubled in size before your 20th week..LOL)  Well, we went shopping for bras and hip maternity clothes and it was just the best feeling. I got to talk to my grandson and feel him quick quite a few time.

I guess you can say I am as excited as a Granny-To-Be can be!!  As her due date approaches, I will fly down to Florida (she lives in Tallahassee and attends FAMU), I will be staying there for 2 full weeks to help her get adjusted to new motherhood.

Well before I get too sappy – Let me lay my next question on Arika..

“You are an excellent VA (I’ve had the honor of working with you for about 2yrs now). Can you tell us what drew you into the VA business and what you love the most about being a VA”

I was tagged last week by Mom Defrazzler. The task was to share seven random and weird things about me. Hmmmm…this will be an adventure, to be sure.First I have to share the rules:

Nothing like FUN family time

January 04, 2008 By: Real Life Solutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management No Comments →

Rocking.jpg picture by AureliaYou guessed it….. That is me, a 38 year old mother of 3 Rocking away on my 16yo’s Electric guitar as my 8year old watches in amazement.

Question:  When is the last time you totally let loose with your kids?  It felt so good to just spend time acting silly with my children as we all took turns being a “Rock Star” and rocking the night away with the Amp turned up high!

While this may not be the “Typical” way to spend family time. Look at the HUGE smile on Isaac’s face?  Too bad you can’t see the grin on Isreal’s face too but she was playing photographer while I was rocking away.

Family time is so very important but let’s face it moms, there are only 24 hours in a day, and I  bet you’d give anything to be able to squeeze in one or two (or maybe ten) more hours into your day just so you can enjoy some quality time with the family each day!

In The “Real Life Guidance to Finding More Family Time Report“, you’ll discover EXACTLY how to find more time for your family AND get everything else done too!

The number one complaint I hear from moms is that they feel guilty about not spending enough time with the family. It’s not because they don’t WANT to, but because they are just so busy that they can’t find the time to get everything done. That is where the guide comes in.  As you can see from above, while it may not be your typical “Family Time” activity, we are ALL having a BALL. Isreal is holding the camera so you can’t see the expression on her face but belive me – she was cracking up!

Here’s just a bit of what you’ll find inside this guide:

- Organization – You’ll find out how being organized will free up a lot of time in your life, leaving you more time for your family, including tips for getting and staying that way.

- Routines/Schedules – Even if you are a spontaneous family, you’ll find ways to easily incorporate a bit of routine into your life, freeing up more time to spend together.

-Balancing Work and Life – Whether you work at home or outside of the home, you’ll see how you can strike a balance between the two.

20 Activities – Suggested ideas to help you decide what to do with your newfound family time.

And…lots more information to make finding more time to spend with those who love you!  Remember it isnt the AMOUT of time you spent – it is the Quality of that time that counts :)
