I was tagged by my friend Marie Ynami over at Mommy Community and she asked me the following questions:

1. How long have you been blogging?
I first started blogging in late 2005 (I was kind of late to the blogging game). I’m happy to say that for almost the past 6 months that I’ve been blogging at a very regular pace and I love it.

2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
I wanted to blog because I ALWAYS have stuff to say and this was like an online notebook for me.  My blogging mentors are the ladies at Mom Masterminds and the AWESOME Nell at CasualFridayEveryday.Com I have been picking up some great tools and tips from Lynette and thanks to her I am blogging daily and on a schedule.

3. Are You trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
Well honesly for the most part is for fun but yes, some of my blog posts are posted to generate income from my own products or affiliate income from products that I promote for others.

4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
-I get to meet great people from all over the world
- Someone is always awake!! (smile)
- I love helping people with the written word.

5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE with in the online world.

- I struggle with getting off of the computer. There seems to always be something that I “Could be doing” so at times, I will be online longer than I should.

- Focusing on just one thing at t time. Many times I will be in the middle of a product and I will catch *wind* of a good idea then I will automatically SHIFT my focus. I am getting a bit better about that but it is always a struggle.

- Checking my Stats.. I am a total Stat Junkie and will check my website & google stats 1, 2 and 3 times a Day… LOL Yes I need Rehab!!

I’m tagging 3 of my online friends with these very same questions. I can’t wait to hear their answers

Making a List & Checking it Twice!

November 30, 2007 By: RealLifeSolutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Teenagers, Uncategorized, Working From Home No Comments →

With a title like ‘Making a List & Checking it Twice’, you may think that I am referring to a Christmas list but actually; I am referring to a Gratitude List.

Gratitude is the state of being grateful and although we encounter many trying times, we should take a moment to reflect upon those things that we are grateful for.

I would like to challenge you to create your own gratitude list, keep that list with you, and add to it as needed. A few things that you can add to the list could be:

  • Good Health
  • Loving Family
  • Caring heart

As you see, the list could go on and on if you really sit down and reflect on it.

Here are a few tips to get started:

  • Set aside a small amount of time each day to focus on things that you are grateful for. You can spend as little as 5 minutes on this task and bring those items that you are grateful for into your mind.
  • Get a small notebook or just a sheet of paper and use it to note the things that you are grateful for.

The key to this exercise is to think about what we are thankful for whether big or small.

Studies have shown that expressing gratitude promotes our physical and emotional well being.  Why not start today?

Today I am grateful for ___________________. (Fill-in this blank with what you are grateful for).

What is your answer?  Feel free to share it with me if you’d like.

Soaking Up What I can

November 29, 2007 By: RealLifeSolutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Teenagers, Uncategorized, Working From Home No Comments →

WOW – I’ve spent the past 2 months really focusing on my online business and soaking up what I can from those that are really experienced in the field of internet marketing and podcasting.

I joined MomMasterminds.com close to 2 years ago and I can’t begin to tell you all of the positive changes that have occurred since implementing their suggestions and following all of the resources that they have there.

My Google Adsense Income has Tripled since joining, I’ve started 2 other great websites that are earning a nice commission monthly and thanks to the awesome Kelly McCausey and Moms Radio Network my Parenting My Teen Podcast has really taken off. Kelly has always been there with some really good, honest advice and feedback and because of that, my show has been accepted very well by many parents.

Also Kelly has helped me to gain more clients into my Real Life Coaching program. I’m not sure if she knows this or not but she is so free with her advice and so honest with it, that when you do it.. My Golly, it WORKS!! I still have a ways to go but I am off to a Bang Up Start!

I’ve been stalking following Alice Seba over at internetmarketingsweetie.com for ages and Alice is wonderful at producing top notch products and also tossing you great free nuggets of information to really improve your business and also make you feel GOOD.

Just today I did something that may seem very small but it really boosted up the way I feel about my business and the way that I am growing. I actually could afford to give a person who has done a lot of work for me over the past few months a RAISE!! Yes a Raise. (The idea came right from one of Alice’s awesome newsletters).

Christina Lemmey from Wonder Years Radio has been doing a Bang up job with writing articles, writing a small report, brainstorming, and she also did a last minute proofreading/editing job to one of my Real Life Guidance reports. She is always very professional, honest and very timely with her work and I wanted her to know how much I appreciated that so I gave her a small raise and I felt so blessed to be able to do it!

Because of what Alice shared in her newsletter I will be doing more raises as they are needed (I don’t know why I never thought of this before) See, thats why we all need mentors (smile).

I would encourage you to hop over to Alice’s site and grab up all of the information that you can.. take it in slowly then implement it.   And, if you have ever had a thought about starting a podcast, run over there and see Kelly!  Both Alice and Kelly have provided me awesome resources that really helped me grow.

November 2007  was my Top Profit Month of my entire 5 years of doing business online (YAY).. and there are still a few days left in November too.

I am just very happy about my progress and really wanted to share this with my Blog family and publicly thank those that have helped.

Crafts – a great way to bond with your kids

November 28, 2007 By: RealLifeSolutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Teenagers, Uncategorized, Working From Home No Comments →

Crafting has long been a great way to bond with kids. These days kids are so consumed with technology that they often don’t even know what making crafts means.

Make a connection – If you are having trouble connecting with your child, try crafting with her. Find a fun craft that you know she will enjoy and block out some special time with her. Crafting together is an easy way to get one-on-one time with your kids and find out what’s going on in their minds.

Give emotional support – As you craft together, your child will probably be more willing to open up and talk to you about things that are on his mind. If there is something bothering your child and he opens up and shares his problem with you during your craft time, give him emotional support. Offer your advice and let him know that you are there for him, unconditionally.

Keep it light and fun – If you craft with your child specifically for the purpose of bonding with her, keep your craft time fun. Try not to obsess about how perfect she’s painting or getting the bead glued on just right. Keep your craft time relaxed.

Encourage and stay interested – Many adults suffer from low self-esteem as a direct result of their parents’ negative attitude towards them during childhood. As you craft with your kids, be interested in what they’re doing. Kids love to share their artwork. Be encouraging and pay positive comments to your kid about their craft. Show them that you are interested in them.

Running Low On Social Support?

November 27, 2007 By: RealLifeSolutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Uncategorized No Comments →

There are many things that can begin to put pressure on moms and one of those things is the  lack of social support.

Moms wear so many hats during the course of a normal day and in addition to needing people who can help us with responsibilities (large or small), we also need people to help us shoulder the emotional burdens in our lives.

Having someone to talk to about what stresses us, someone escape with to unwind when we have free time, someone to understand us when times are tough, and someone to supply new ideas when we’re stumped are all important and necessary aspects of social support.

Feeling isolated with our stress creates more stress, and elevates our risk for burnout, whereas adequate social support can be a buffer against it.

Time Out for Mom During the Holidays

November 25, 2007 By: RealLifeSolutions Category: About the Family, Blogroll, Children, Freebies, Goals, Healthy Living, Just for Fun, Mommy Rambles, Organization, Pamper Yourself, Parenting, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Teenagers, Uncategorized No Comments →

The holidays can be a stressful time for moms. From holiday travel to baking and cooking, you can get overwhelmed and stressed out in a hurry. This holiday season, as difficult as it sometimes is, try to remember to stop and take time for you.

Reduce the Stress:
Do you find yourself so stressed out during the holidays that you can’t even enjoy your company? If so, it’s time to reduce your stress.

* First, ask yourself what tasks you can delegate to family members. Perhaps you can share the responsibility of your family dinner. Have everyone bring a dish. Maybe you need help at home on baking day. Ask your kids to pitch in and help with making cookies or candy or even with the clean-up.

* Next, remember to breathe. When you are in the middle of a stress-filled moment, stop, close your eyes and take in a deep breath. Remind yourself that this day should be filled with happy, joyful memories.

Be Nice to Yourself:
As women, we tend to take care of everyone first, then ourselves last. The problem with this is that usually after we’re finished taking care of everyone else, we have nothing left to give back to ourselves. During the holidays this year, take some time to be nice to you. Here are a few ideas for you:

* Take a coffee break. While you’re out shopping for gifts, stop and take a coffee break. Buy one of your favorite magazines to read while you enjoy your favorite latte.

* Read a book. Buy yourself a new book and allow yourself an afternoon of doing nothing but lying in bed, reading your new book.

* Take a bubble bath. Lock the door, turn off the phone and run a bubble bath for yourself. Relax and forget about all the plans, cooking and presents and just enjoy a nice, relaxing thirty minutes alone.  It’s amazing how much these thirty minutes can re-energize you and help you cope with the tasks ahead.
