Ahhhh cho!

You know it when you see your little ones approach you with runny noses and the sniffles or when you feel that tickle/scratchy sensation in your throat. It’s the dreaded common cold.

The common cold generally involves a runny nose, nasal congestion, and sneezing. You may also have a sore throat, cough, headache, or other symptoms like a mild fever. Did you know that there are over 200 viruses
that can cause a cold?

Hand washing is the simplest and most effective way to keep from catching and spreading the common cold.  Drinking plenty of liquids can help relieve the cold symptoms as well. Water, juice, clear broth or warm lemon water with honey helps loosen congestion and prevents dehydration.  Please note that nonprescription cold remedies may relieve some cold
symptoms but will not prevent, cure, or even shorten the duration of illness.

Here’s to your health!

5 Easy Steps To Build Self Esteem

September 04, 2006 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Self Esteem, Uncategorized No Comments →

Building up your self-confidence takes time and commitment but it is well worth it! You will soon find yourself embracing your new image and giving off a very positive energy that will surely come back to you.
1 - Start each morning and end each day with a positive statement or thought. Create your own mantra (i.e. “I am intelligent”, “I will have a positive day”, “I will succeed”).

2 - Get to know the TRUE you and accept yourself. The more you accept your true self the more others will do the same.

3 - Make a list of all your positive characteristics and achievements. Keep adding to this list as time goes on and be sure to keep your list in a place where you can access it and read it at will.

4 - Choose your words/thoughts carefully; Take time to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. If you are faced with a challenging task — instead of saying, “I will never get this done on time” rephrase your word/thoughts into positives: “When I finish this task I will treat myself to something nice” or “This may be challenging but I can do this”.

5 - Take what you are good at and enhance it. Let others know about it! Hold your head up high, be proud and know that you have a special gift inside of you.

If you have had it with battling low self esteem, I have a clear-cut action guide that can help. It also comes with a 1hr. Balancing your Life Audio and the transcripts of the audio as well. Visit http://www.reallifecoaching.net/journeytojoy.shtml

How to get your baby to sleep through the night….

September 02, 2006 By: Real Life Solutions Category: Children, Parenting, Uncategorized No Comments →

You’re exhausted, moody and can’t even think straight! Sound familiar?

Most parents suffer from sleep deprivation at some point. Even those who are lucky enough to have babies who are good sleepers eventually have to deal with getting their toddlers to stay in bed.

To make matters worst there is so much conflicting information as to how and when we should get our babies to sleep through the night. It’s enough to leave a new parent wondering what’s the right thing to do?

Here are a few tips to get baby to sleep through the night:

Listen to your instincts. Remember you know your baby best. Take all advice you get (including this one) as what it is, “advice”. Never let it replace your own personal judgment. You know your baby best and only YOU know what’s really right for him. If it feels right to rock your baby to sleep, then do it. If it feels right to bring your baby into bed with you then do it. The main idea is to get baby to sleep through the night peacefully.
